The early life of Michael Buffer

Michael Buffer was born and raised in Pennsylvania where he was born in a different family but raised by foster parents. He is the son of an enlisted man in the United States Navy and his wife during World War II.

At the age of 20, he was enlisted in United States Army during the Vietnam War and he served till the age of 23.

Michael even had various jobs including a car salesman, and at the age of 32, he began a modeling career before becoming a ring announcer at the age of 38.

Buffer began his career as a ring announcer in 1982. By 1983, he was given national identity as he was announcing all boxing matches promoted by Bob Arum’s Top Rank on ESPN, at a time when ring announcers were strictly locally hired talent.

He was the exclusive ring announcer for all bouts in Donald Trump-owner casinos in the 1980s. Many boxers admired his work.

Until 2001, he was the ring announcer for World Championship Wrestling main events featuring Hulk Hogan or other Top WCW talent.
